Securing your terminology

Individual terminology databases and glossaries

Our team of qualified terminology experts takes care of updating and maintaining individual terminology databases and company specific glossaries. In cooperation with you, with the first translation, we integrate existing terminology which is further expanded by adding relevant terms from follow-up projects to the existing database.

Reliable translation memory systems and terminology databases

Particularly for the translation of technical documentations, instruction manuals, software programs or also product catalogues, which frequently have recurring phrasing, the use of tools such as translation memory systems in combination with terminology databases is highly recommended. Software programs such as SDL Trados, Across Language Server or Star Transit can save text segments from the source text and the finished translation together.

The saved translation of these text segments is generally referred to as Translation Memory (TM). In your next projects, with respect to recurring phrasings, the TM provides the translator with suggestions and will act as your company-specific dictionary. The use of translation memory systems, however, is by no means comparable to machine translations.
